Fritter Ingredients

Method

Fritter Preparation

1

Prepare the Field Peas

Soak the field peas in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked field peas, all-purpose flour, rice flour, baking powder, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.

3

Add Water

Gradually add water to the dry ingredients and mix until a thick batter forms. The batter should be thick enough to hold its shape.

4

Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

5

Fry the Fritters

Using a spoon, drop dollops of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

6

Drain

Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
