Method

Blackberry Basil Sorbet

1

Prepare the Blackberry Base

In a medium saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the blackberries start breaking down, about 10 minutes.

2

Add Basil and Lemon Juice

Remove the saucepan from heat, add fresh basil leaves and lemon juice. Let it steep for 15 minutes.

3

Blend and Strain

Using a blender, blend the mixture until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding solids. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

4

Freeze the Sorbet

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours.

Spiced Pear Sorbet

5

Cook the Pears

In a large saucepan, combine diced pears, sugar, water, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Cook over medium heat until pears are soft and the mixture thickens, about 15 minutes.

6

Add Lemon Juice

Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Allow to cool for 15 minutes.

7

Blend and Chill

Blend the mixture until smooth, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

8

Freeze the Sorbet

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours.

Orange Vanilla Sorbet

9

Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine fresh orange juice, sugar, vanilla extract, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.

10

Chill the Mixture

Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours until it is well chilled.
