Garnish & Glass Prep

1

Prepare the glass

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass to moisten. Spread the salt on a small plate and dip the moistened rim into the salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

2

Add half a cup of fresh ice to the prepared glass if you prefer the margarita on the rocks. If serving straight up, leave the glass empty of ice.

Cocktail

3

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz triple sec, and 0.5 oz agave syrup.

4

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with about 1 cup of ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is cold to the touch and the exterior is frosty.

5

Strain and serve

If serving up: double-strain the mixture into the prepared, non-iced glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards. If serving on the rocks: fill the prepared glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail over the ice.

6

Garnish

Express a lime wedge over the drink (squeeze and rub the oils across the surface) and drop the wedge into the glass or mount it on the rim.

7

Taste and adjust: if you prefer sweeter, stir in an additional 1/4 oz agave syrup; if you prefer more tartness, add 1/4 oz more lime juice and gently stir.
