Prepare glass
Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you assemble the drink.
Add spirits
Discard any meltwater from the glass, then pour 2 oz peach schnapps and 1 oz vodka (if using) over the ice.
Add citrus
Measure and add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice to the glass for brightness.
Top with soda
Top the mixture with about 3 oz club soda (adjust to taste) and gently stir once or twice to combine without flattening the soda.
Garnish and finish
Rub the rim with the lime wedge, drop the wedge into the drink, and add a peach slice on the rim or into the glass as garnish. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon.
