Method

Brownie Base

1

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2

Melt Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3

Mix Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, 2 cups granulated sugar, and 1 cup brown sugar. Mix until well combined.

4

Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 4 large eggs and 2 tsp vanilla extract to the sugar mixture. Mix until smooth and well blended.

5

Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, sift together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 0.5 tsp salt, and 1 tsp baking powder.

6

Combine Mixtures

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.

7

Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

8

Cool

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Chocolate Sauce

9

Heat Cream

In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

10

Add Chocolate

Remove from heat and add 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth.

11

Add Corn Syrup and Vanilla

Stir in 0.5 cups of corn syrup and 1 tsp vanilla extract until well combined. Keep warm until ready to serve.

Spiced Walnuts

12

Prepare Walnuts

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread 1 cup of walnuts on a baking sheet in a single layer.

13

Mix Spices

In a small bowl, combine 1 tsp cinnamon, 0.25 cups brown sugar, and 0.25 tsp salt.

14

Coat Walnuts

Sprinkle the spice mixture over the walnuts and toss to coat evenly.

15

Bake Walnuts

Bake the walnuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until fragrant and toasted. Stir halfway through.

16

Cool

Remove from the oven and let cool before using.
