Fried Shrimp

Method

Fried Shrimp

1

Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk and egg together.

2

Coat the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.

3

Fry the Shrimp

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Corn Fritters

4

Mix the Batter

In a bowl, combine sweet corn, flour, egg, milk, baking powder, salt, and black pepper until well blended.

5

Fry the Fritters

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Cocktail Sauce

6

Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, horseradish sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using) until well combined.

House Chips

7

Prepare the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium-high heat. Slice the potatoes thinly and soak in water for 30 minutes.

8

Fry the Chips

Fry the potato slices in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
