Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place the coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to ensure it is well chilled.

2

Combine ingredients

Add citrus vodka (2 oz), Campari (1 oz), Cointreau (0.5 oz), freshly squeezed orange juice (1 oz), and fresh lime juice (0.5 oz) into a cocktail shaker. If you prefer the cocktail slightly sweeter, add simple syrup (0.25 oz).

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 medium cubes), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, discard the ice water now.

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or a fine cocktail strainer) to remove ice shards and any pulp from the orange juice.

6

Garnish and serve

Express an orange twist over the top of the drink to release the oils, then either drop the twist into the glass or perch an orange wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

7

Taste and adjust: Campari is bitter and assertive—if you'd like a slightly milder bitterness, reduce Campari to 0.75 oz and increase orange juice by 0.25–0.5 oz. Simple syrup is optional depending on your preferred balance between bitter and sweet.

8

Variations: For more citrus brightness, substitute blood orange juice when in season or use a flavored vodka (e.g., orange or grapefruit) to enhance the profile.
