Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass (optional salted rim)

If salting the rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of a chilled rocks or margarita glass. Spread the salt on a small plate, then dip and roll the rim to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Jose Cuervo tequila, 1 oz Citrónge, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to just above the liquid level. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the mixture is well chilled and slightly frothy.

4

Strain and serve

Strain the cocktail through a fine strainer or the shaker strainer into the prepared glass over fresh ice (if using a rocks glass) or serve neat in a chilled coupe. If you prefer a blended-style margarita, instead combine ingredients with 1 cup of crushed ice and pulse in a blender until slushy.

Garnish & Finish

5

Garnish the drink with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
