Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare honey simple syrup (if not pre-made)

Combine equal parts honey and hot water (example: 1/4 cup honey + 1/4 cup hot water). Stir until honey fully dissolves. Cool to room temperature before using. Store refrigerated.

2

Add 2 oz Chris Stapleton’s The Traveler bourbon, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.75 oz honey simple syrup into a mixing glass or shaker filled with ice.

3

Stir the mixture briskly with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds (or until well chilled and diluted) if you prefer a silky texture; alternatively, shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds for a colder, slightly frothy finish.

4

Strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass over one large ice cube or into a coupe if serving up. Use a fine strainer if you shook the cocktail to remove tiny ice shards.

5

Garnish with one Luxardo cherry placed on a pick and rest it over the rim or drop into the glass.

Optional Finish

6

Express a lemon twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down above the surface and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils. Rub the twist along the glass rim and drop it into the drink or discard per preference.

7

If using bitters, add 1 dash of Angostura on top for aroma and swirl lightly.
