Method

Martini

1

Chill glass

Place the cocktail (martini) glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to thoroughly chill it.

2

Measure spirits

Using a jigger, pour 2.5 oz Grey Goose vodka and 0.25 oz dry vermouth into a mixing glass or shaker.

3

Add ice and stir

Add about 6 large ice cubes to the mixing glass. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds (or about 10–15 full spoon rotations) until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Prepare garnish

If you like, thread 2 bleu cheese stuffed olives onto a cocktail pick. Optionally prepare a lemon twist by cutting a thin strip of lemon peel and expressing oils over the glass.

5

Strain and serve

Discard ice/water from the chilled glass. Using a strainer, pour the chilled martini from the mixing glass into the chilled cocktail glass.

6

Garnish and finish

Garnish with the bleu cheese stuffed olive skewer. Optionally drop the olive into the drink or rest it on the rim and add the lemon twist if desired. Serve immediately.

Cleanup & Tips

7

Rinse the mixing glass and barware promptly to avoid residue. Tips: Adjust vermouth to taste (for a drier martini use 0.125 oz or rinse the glass with vermouth). Stirring preserves clarity; shake only if you prefer a slightly more aerated, colder martini.
