Preparation
1. Muddle
In a sturdy highball glass or a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves, 4 fresh blueberries, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.75 oz simple syrup. Gently muddle 6–8 times just to release the mint oils and crush the blueberries — avoid over-muddling the mint which can make it bitter.
2. Build
Add 2 oz Stoli Blueberry vodka into the glass or shaker with the muddled mint and blueberry mixture. Fill the glass about three-quarters full with crushed ice (approximately 1 cup).
3. Mix
If using a shaker: cap and gently shake once or twice to combine (short, 3–4 seconds), then pour unstrained into the serving glass over fresh crushed ice. If built in the glass: use a long spoon or barspoon to gently stir the mixture 8–10 times to integrate flavors.
4. Top and garnish
Top the drink with approximately 2 oz chilled club soda to add effervescence. Give one gentle lift-and-roll stir to incorporate without flattening the soda. Add 2 fresh blueberries on top, tuck a sprig of mint into the side of the glass, and garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.
5. Serve
Serve immediately with a straw. Encourage the drinker to lightly slap the mint sprig before placing it to activate the aroma (optional).
