Alcohol & Liqueurs

Method

Prepare Bucket & Fruit

  1. 1

    Chill bucket and prepare fruit

If possible, chill the sandcastle bucket or beverage bucket in a cool place for 10–15 minutes prior to serving. Hull and halve the strawberries. Slice orange into 6 slices and cut pineapple into 6 wedges if using.

  2. 2

Place the prepared fruit into the bottom of the bucket: add all halved strawberries and reserve a few whole halves for garnish. Add orange slices and pineapple wedges around the inside perimeter so they sit against the bucket sides for presentation.

Add Ice

  1. 3

Add about 6–8 cups of cubed ice into the bucket on top of and around the fruit. Leave some room at the top to avoid overflow when pouring in liquids.

Combine Alcohols

  1. 4

Measure and pour the Malibu rum (12 oz), triple sec (6 oz), and Absolut Citron (6 oz) evenly over the ice in the bucket. Pour slowly to avoid splashing.

  2. 5

Gently stir once with a long spoon or paddle to start combining the alcohols with the chilled fruit and ice.

Add Juices & Sweetening

  1. 6

Pour in the pineapple juice (24 oz), cranberry juice (16 oz), orange juice (12 oz), and Nutri Juice (12 oz) into the bucket. Pour these slowly to keep layering even.

  2. 7

Add the sweet & sour mix (10 oz) to the bucket. This balances the sweetness and brightens the overall flavor.

  3. 8

Stir thoroughly but gently for 20–30 seconds to fully integrate the alcohols and juices without over-diluting the mixture.

Taste & Adjust

  1. 9

Taste the mixture with a clean spoon or by pouring a small sample into a glass. If it tastes too strong, add up to 6 oz additional orange juice or pineapple juice. If it needs more tartness, add 1–2 oz more sweet & sour mix. Stir gently after adjustments.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 10

Top with any remaining ice if needed to keep the bucket cold. Float a few reserved strawberry halves and additional orange slices on top for visual appeal.

  2. 11

Serve with long straws and small beverage cups. Provide a long-handled ladle or large spoon so guests can scoop fruit and pour drinks. Advise guests to stir lightly before serving each round, as juices may settle.

  3. 12

Keep the bucket in a shaded or cool area. Consume responsibly — this is a large-format, high-alcohol cocktail intended for sharing.
