Build the cocktail
Pour 2 oz vodka and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice over the ice. Add 0.5 oz grenadine and, if using, 0.25 oz maraschino cherry juice for extra sweetness.

Gently top the mixture with 3 oz chilled cola. Stir once gently with a bar spoon to combine — you want a light swirl that leaves a layered look but mixes flavors.
