Method

Beer

1

Chill Beer

Ensure the amber ale is properly chilled to 38–45°F (3–7°C). If beer is not cold, place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or in an ice bath for 20–30 minutes.

2

Prepare Glass

If you prefer a frosty glass, briefly chill the glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water for 3–5 minutes then discard the ice water just before pouring. For a slightly lighter, more refreshing experience, add 1/2 cup of ice to the glass now.

3

Pour Beer

Hold the glass at a 45-degree angle and begin pouring the beer gently down the side about halfway to minimize foam. When the glass is about half full, tilt it upright and pour into the center to create a 1/2–1 inch (1–2 cm) head of foam. If using a can, open fully and pour; if using a bottle, open with a bottle opener or bottle cap remover.

4

Optional Garnish

If desired, run a lemon or orange wedge around the rim and drop it into the glass or serve it on the side. This brightens the malt-forward amber character without overpowering it.

5

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Sip to appreciate the malt caramel notes, light to medium hop presence, and amber color.

Equipment & Cleanup

6

After serving, rinse the glass with warm water and allow to air dry. Store any remaining beer in the refrigerator upright and consume within 24 hours for best flavor (flavor and carbonation will decline).
