Top off your dining experience with this classic, creamy custard glazed in caramel.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns a golden brown color, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn it.

Make the Caramel

In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.

Prepare the Flan Mixture

Once the caramel is ready, quickly pour it into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Pour the flan mixture over the caramel.

Combine and Pour

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the outer pan with water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until set.

Bake

Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. To serve, run a knife around the edges, invert onto a plate, and drizzle with any remaining caramel.
