Soda Base

Sweetener (optional)

Garnish & Ice

Method

Soda Base

1

Chill and measure

Chill a serving glass (or pitcher) in the refrigerator for 5–10 minutes if desired. Measure 3 cups of 7 Up (or another lemon-lime soda) and 1 cup of club soda or sparkling water.

2

In a pitcher or mixing glass, gently combine the 7 Up and club soda. Stir once or twice with a long spoon to combine without losing too much carbonation.

3

Add 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to brighten the flavor. Taste and proceed to sweeten only if needed.

Sweetener (optional)

4

If you prefer a slightly sweeter or rounder soda, add up to 1 teaspoon simple syrup and stir gently to incorporate. Do not add more than necessary to avoid flattening the soda.

Garnish & Ice

5

Fill a tall serving glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes. Pour the soda mixture over the ice, leaving a little headspace to preserve bubbles.

6

Garnish with 1–2 lemon slices and 1–2 lime slices on the rim or floated in the glass. Clap 4 mint leaves between your palms once to release aroma and tuck them into the drink.

7

Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon so the drink remains fizzy. If preparing for a group, assemble just before serving to keep carbonation.
