Directions
Prepare the Ginger and Turmeric
Peel the fresh ginger root and turmeric root using a vegetable peeler. Cut both into thin slices to maximize flavor extraction.
Boil the Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
Infuse Ingredients
Once the water is boiling, add the sliced ginger, sliced turmeric, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Strain the Tea
After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a large bowl or a pitcher to remove the solids.
Add Lemon Juice and Sweetener
Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey (or your sweetener of choice) while the tea is still warm.
Mix in Lyre’s Apéritif Rosso
Once the mixture is well combined and slightly cooled, add in 3 oz of Lyre’s Apéritif Rosso for a refreshing twist.
