Cocktail
Chill Glass
Place a coupe or chilled rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it is cold.
Combine Ingredients
Add 2 oz rye whiskey, 1 oz amaro, and 3 dashes Angostura bitters into a mixing glass.
Strain and Garnish
Double-strain the stirred cocktail into the chilled coupe or a rocks glass over a single large ice cube, if preferred. Express an orange peel over the drink (optional) to release oils and discard or drop it in. Add one Luxardo or maraschino cherry as garnish.
Serve
Serve immediately. Sip and enjoy the balanced interplay of spicy rye, herbaceous-sweet amaro, and aromatic bitters.
