Garlic Rolls

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

3

Shape the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.

4

Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and Aleppo pepper. Brush the mixture over the rolls.

5

Bake the Rolls

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

6

Serve

Remove from the oven and brush with additional garlic butter if desired. Serve warm with tomato jam.
