Method
For the Drink
- 1
Chill and Prep Glass
Place a pint glass or tall chilled beer glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice and water to chill while you prepare ingredients. Drain before assembling.
- 2
Add the fresh lime juice and simple syrup (if using) into the chilled glass. Stir gently to combine.
- 3
Add ice cubes (if using) to the glass, leaving room for the beer.
- 4
- 5
Top with 2 oz chilled sparkling water to add brightness and a little extra fizz. Stir gently once with a bar spoon or long teaspoon to combine — avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation.
- 6
If using, add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on the surface for aroma and a faint complexity. Do not over-stir.
Garnish & Serve
- 7
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Express the lime over the glass (squeeze briefly to release oils) and drop it in if desired.
- 8
Optionally slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aromatics and tuck it against the glass. Serve immediately while fizzy.
- 9
Recommend serving temperature: very cold (38–45°F / 3–7°C). Estimated alcohol by volume: 0% (depends on NA beer).
