1. Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper.

2. Marinate the Chicken or Tofu

Add the chicken breast or tofu cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Prepare the Steamer

Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place a steaming basket over the pot.

4. Steam the Chicken or Tofu

Place the marinated chicken or tofu in the steaming basket. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C/165°F) or until the tofu is heated through.

5. Steam the Vegetables

In the last 5 minutes of steaming the chicken or tofu, add the mixed vegetables to the steaming basket to cook them through.

6. Serve

Once done, remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
