Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

Incorporate Cheeses
Reduce the heat to low and add the Fontina, Grana Padano, Gruyere, Gouda, and Brie cheeses. Stir until the cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until well combined. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Optional Topping
If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top of the mac and cheese.

Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
