Method
Preparation and Assembly
Make the Brownies
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Melt Butter and Mix Sugars
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Combine Mixtures
Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Bake Brownies
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool and Cut
Allow brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
Assemble the Dessert
Place a warm brownie on a plate, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle with warm chocolate sauce, sprinkle with chocolate shavings, and finish with whipped cream.
