Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur.

Making the Mascarpone Cream

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks with 100 grams of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in 500 grams of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently to maintain the light texture.

  5. 7

    Add Vanilla

Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mascarpone cream mixture.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 8

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 9

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 10

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture.

Finishing Touches

  1. 11

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 12

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
