Scoop the Ice Cream
Using an ice cream scoop, place 2 cups of vanilla ice cream into serving bowls or glasses.

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee using an espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker.

Sweeten (Optional)
If desired, add 1 teaspoon of sugar to the hot espresso and stir until dissolved.

Pour the Espresso Over Ice Cream
Immediately pour the hot espresso over the scoops of vanilla ice cream in the bowls or glasses.

Serve Immediately
Serve the affogato immediately while the espresso is hot and the ice cream is beginning to melt.
