Cocktail

Optional add-on

Method

Cocktail

1

Brew and cool espresso

Brew a 1 oz shot of espresso (or very strong coffee). Allow it to cool for 1–2 minutes so it’s hot but not scalding — if it’s too hot it will melt ice and overly dilute the cocktail.

2

Prepare shaker and ingredients

Add 6 pieces of ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in 1.5 oz organic vodka, 0.75 oz Kahlúa, 0.5 oz Frangelico, the cooled 1 oz espresso, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer a touch more sweetness. If the guest requested the chocolate add-on, add 0.5 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur at this stage (note: this increases sweetness and chocolate flavor).

3

Dry shake (optional)

For a creamier, foamy top, shake the ingredients first without ice for 8–10 seconds (this agitates the espresso and helps create crema).

4

Wet shake

Add ice (if you dry-shook) or simply seal the shaker and shake vigorously with the ice for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is chilled and you feel condensation on the outside.

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and ensure a silky texture.

Garnish & Serve

6

Garnish with 3 whole coffee beans placed on top of the foam for the classic presentation. Optionally dust a small pinch (about 1/4 tsp) of cocoa powder or grated chocolate over the foam for extra aroma and visual appeal.

7

Serve immediately while the cocktail is chilled and foam is present. Inform the guest that the Godiva add-on increases sweetness and chocolate flavor by $3 if used.
