Tortilla Chips

Method

Salsa Preparation

1

Roast Ingredients

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the tomatoes, jalapeños, and garlic cloves on the grill/skillet and roast until charred, about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally.

2

Blend the Salsa

Once roasted, let the ingredients cool slightly. In a molcajete or blender, combine the roasted tomatoes, jalapeños, garlic, and chopped red onion. Add cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Blend until desired consistency is reached.

Tortilla Chips Preparation

3

Cut the Tortillas

Cut the corn tortillas into triangle shapes.

4

Fry the Chips

In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, fry the tortilla triangles in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
