OLD FASHIONED

Ebullient pink grapefruit and tangerine notes extend from start to finish in this fruit-forward Riesling. Off dry in style, it's delicately sweet yet refreshingly balanced in acidity

Place the Bex Riesling bottle in an ice bucket with ice cubes and a small amount of water, or refrigerate the bottle for about 2 hours before serving so it reaches approximately 8–10°C (46–50°F).

Chill the bottle

Use clean white wine glasses with a medium bowl (Riesling-style). Remove any dust or residue; warm hands can hold the stem to avoid warming the wine.

Prepare glassware

Carefully cut the foil and use a waiter-style corkscrew to remove the cork. Wipe the neck with a clean cloth to remove any cork particles.

Open the bottle

Pour 3–4 ounces (90–120 ml) per glass, filling to the widest part of the bowl to allow aromatics to collect. Keep the bottle in the ice bucket to maintain temperature during service.

Before tasting, swirl gently to release aromas. Note the ebullient pink grapefruit and tangerine notes on the nose. Take a small sip, letting the wine coat the tongue to sense the delicate off-dry sweetness balanced by bright acidity. Expect fruit-forward flavors to persist from start to finish.

Aroma & tasting guidance

If desired for presentation, place a thin slice of pink grapefruit or tangerine on the rim or in a small tasting bowl beside each glass — do not squeeze into the wine, as added juice will change balance.

Serve with fresh goat cheese and crusty bread for a bright contrast, smoked salmon for a savory complement, or lightly spiced Thai green curry to highlight the wine's off-dry fruitiness and acidity. Offer small portions so the wine remains the focus.
