Method

Filling Preparation

1

Prepare the Peaches

In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Mix well until the peaches are evenly coated.

2

Add Butter

Drizzle the melted butter over the peach mixture and stir until well combined.

3

Set Aside

Let the peach filling sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the sugar to draw out the juices from the peaches.

Topping Preparation

4

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

5

Add Wet Ingredients

Gradually pour in the milk and melted butter into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Assembly and Baking

6

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

7

Layer the Filling

Pour the peach filling mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

8

Add the Topping

Spoon the topping mixture evenly over the peach filling, spreading it out gently to cover the peaches.

9

Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

10

Cool and Serve

Remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
