Preparation

Prepare the Glass

Start by chilling an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, combine 1 tsp of sucanat with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. Use a muddler or a spoon to mix them together until the sucanat is dissolved.

Add the Bourbon

Pour 2 oz of Maker’s Mark Ella Barrel Bourbon into the mixing glass with the muddled sucanat and bitters mixture.

Add Ice

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Prepare the Glass Again

Dump the ice water from the chilled Old Fashioned glass and strain the mixed drink into the glass over fresh ice cubes.

Garnish

Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish. Repeat with the lemon peel for additional aroma.
