Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Measure and ready fruit

Peel the banana and break it into chunks. If using fresh fruit instead of frozen, measure and wash it, then add 4 ice cubes to the recipe to chill and thicken the smoothie.

2

Measure dry add-ins

Measure yogurt, milk, protein powder (if using), rolled oats and seeds. Spoon nut butter and measure sweetener and vanilla.

Blend

3

Layer ingredients in blender

Add liquids (milk and yogurt) to the blender first to help blades move. Add protein powder if using, then banana, frozen berries, spinach (if using), oats, nut butter, chia or flax, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla. Add ice cubes last if using fresh fruit.

4

Blend to desired texture

Secure the blender lid and blend on medium-high for 30–60 seconds, or until smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides once, then blend another 10–15 seconds. If the smoothie is too thick, add 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml) milk and blend again. If too thin, add 1–2 tablespoons oats or a few more frozen berries and re-blend.

Serve & Garnish

5

Pour the smoothie into two glasses. Top with fresh berries, banana slices, and mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

6

Storage: If you must store, pour into an airtight container and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking; texture will separate over time.
