Method

Build & Stir

  1. 1

    Chill glass

If desired, chill a rocks glass or coupe by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail. Set aside.

  2. 2

In a mixing glass or shaker filled halfway with ice, combine gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari (1 oz each).

  3. 3

Stir the three spirits gently for about 20–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted (aim for a glossy, cold mixture).

Assemble

  1. 4

Discard ice water from the chilled glass (if used) and add 2–3 large ice cubes to the glass.

  2. 5

Strain the stirred gin, vermouth, and Campari over the ice in the glass.

  3. 6

Top gently with 2 oz chilled Prosecco, pouring slowly to preserve some effervescence and create a layered look.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 7

Express the oils of the orange peel over the drink by holding the peel skin-side down above the glass and giving it a firm squeeze, then run the peel around the glass rim and drop it in as a garnish. Alternatively, garnish with an orange wheel on the rim.

  2. 8

Serve immediately while the Prosecco is effervescent.
