Prepare
Chill a rocks glass by filling it with ice and set aside while you mix the cocktail.

Mix
In a cocktail shaker, add 6 ice cubes, 2 oz Crown Royal, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted on the outside.

Strain
Dump the ice from the chilled rocks glass. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass over 2–3 fresh ice cubes (optional), using a fine strainer if available to remove small ice shards.

Garnish & Serve
Express a lemon twist over the drink by holding it skin-side down above the glass and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils, then rub the rim with the twist and drop it into the glass. Serve immediately.
