Fit Turkey Wrap

A German style Kölsch, this beer crushes for food pairings, late night hangs, and day drinking! An easy, traditional drinker!

In a large mash tun, heat 6 liters of filtered water to 67°C (153°F). Add the Pilsner malt and flaked corn, stirring to ensure there are no dry clumps. Maintain this temperature for 60 minutes.

Prepare the Mash

After mashing, raise the heat to bring the mash to a boil. Once boiling, add the Hallertau hops. Boil for 30 minutes, then add the Saaz hops. Continue boiling for an additional 15 minutes.

Boil the Wort

Remove the kettle from heat and use a wort chiller or ice bath to cool the wort to 20°C (68°F) as quickly as possible.

Cool the Wort

Once cooled, transfer the wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Sprinkle the German Kölsch yeast on top of the wort. Seal the vessel and allow it to ferment for about 10-14 days at 18-20°C (64-68°F).

Pitch the Yeast

Once fermentation is complete, transfer the beer to a bottling bucket. Prime with sugar if desired, then fill bottles and cap them. Allow the bottles to carbonate for 1-2 weeks at room temperature.

Bottle the Beer

Chill the bottles in the fridge before serving. Pour into a glass and enjoy your delicious German Kölsch beer with friends or food pairings!
