Bottled Water
Milk (served chilled or warmed)
Method
Bottled Water
Select a sealed bottled still water (small bottle). Check the bottle cap for a proper seal and the expiration/best-by date if present.
If serving chilled, place the unopened bottle in a refrigerator for at least 30 minutes prior to service, or place it in an ice bucket for 5–10 minutes to cool quickly.
To serve without ice: open the bottle and pour into a clean glass. Serve the remaining bottle on the side.
Milk (served chilled or warmed)
Chilled Milk (simple)
Place the milk in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving. Pour 1 cup of chilled milk into a clean glass. If desired, stir in an optional sweetener or a drop of vanilla (about 1 tsp) and serve immediately.
Warmed Milk (stovetop)
Pour 1 cup of whole milk into a small saucepan or milk pitcher. Warm over low to medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the milk is steaming and small bubbles appear around the edge (do not boil), about 4–6 minutes. Remove from heat. If desired, whisk in 1 tsp of sweetener or vanilla. Pour into a warmed mug and serve immediately.
Warmed Milk (microwave)
Pour 1 cup of milk into a microwave-safe cup. Microwave on medium power in 30–45 second increments, stirring between increments, until the milk is hot but not boiling, about 60–90 seconds total depending on microwave. Stir in optional sweetener or vanilla if desired and serve.
