Selection and preparation
Choose the bottled beverages you plan to serve based on guest preferences and temperature. Keep a balanced variety: still water, sparkling water, cola, ginger ale, iced tea, lemonade, fruit juice, and tonic water.
Chill bottled beverages
If bottles are not already chilled, place them upright in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. For faster chilling, nestle bottles in a bucket filled with ice and cold water for 20–30 minutes. Make sure caps are tightly closed while chilling.
Serving / Garnish
Prepare serving station
Clear and clean a table or counter where drinks will be displayed. Place bottled beverages grouped by type (waters together, sodas together, juices together) so guests can easily find what they want.
Provide ice and glasses
If using loose ice, place it in a separate insulated container or ice bucket with tongs or a scoop. Provide clean glasses or disposable cups, and place cocktail napkins nearby. Arrange lemon and lime slices and mint sprigs in small bowls for garnish.
Serving guidance
Advise guests on pairings if desired (e.g., iced tea or lemonade for sweet desserts, sparkling water or tonic for light bites, cola for richer snacks). Refill the station as bottles are consumed, re-chilling replacements as needed.
Garnish usage
Offer lemon or lime slices and mint so guests can add them to glasses or bottles. For sparkling water or tonic, a lemon or lime wedge enhances flavor; for iced tea or lemonade, mint is a fresh complement.
Cleanup and storage
Collect empty bottles and recycle according to local rules. Refrigerate any partially used bottles with caps tightly secured and consume within 48 hours for best quality. Clean the serving area and store leftover garnishes in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
