Smoothie Base

Sweetener & Enhancers (optional)

Method

Smoothie Base

1

Prepare fruit

If using fresh strawberries, hull and halve them. Measure frozen berries so they remain cold and give the smoothie a thick texture. If berries are very large, roughly chop so they blend evenly.

2

Add frozen blueberries, frozen blackberries, and strawberries to the blender first. This places frozen solids closest to the blades for easier blending.

3

Pour in 1 cup apple juice and add 1 cup Greek yogurt to the blender. The apple juice provides sweetness and liquid; the yogurt adds creaminess and protein.

Sweetener & Enhancers (optional)

4

Add 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter smoothie. Taste before adding so you don’t over-sweeten.

5

Add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors and prevent the smoothie from tasting flat.

6

Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon chia seeds for a subtle texture and nutritional boost. If using whole chia, allow the blended smoothie to sit 3–5 minutes for slight thickening (optional).

Ice & Blend

7

If you want a thicker, colder smoothie, add up to 1 cup of ice cubes. For a thinner consistency, omit the ice or add an extra 1/4 cup apple juice.

8

Blend

Secure the blender lid and blend on medium-high for 45–90 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides once if needed. Blend until completely smooth and no large fruit pieces remain. If the mixture is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons apple juice and blend again. If it’s too thin, add a few more frozen berries or a small handful of ice and pulse until desired consistency is reached.

Serve & Garnish

9

Pour the smoothie into two tall glasses (or one large). Garnish each with a few fresh whole berries and a mint leaf if desired.

10

Serve immediately for best texture and flavor. If not drinking right away, keep refrigerated and consume within 24 hours; shake or stir before drinking as separation may occur.
