Method

Cocktail

1

Measure & Combine

Measure 1 oz organic gin, 1 oz Campari, and 1 oz sweet vermouth into a mixing glass or a shaker without ice. This 1:1:1 ratio yields a classic balanced Negroni.

2

Add Ice & Stir

Add enough cold ice to the mixing glass to fill it. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20-30 seconds (approximately 15-20 complete revolutions) until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted — this integrates flavors and smooths the bitterness.

3

Prepare Serving Glass

Place a large ice cube or a few large cubes into an old-fashioned (rocks) glass. If using a single large cube, ensure it is chilled beforehand to minimize quick dilution.

4

Strain

Using a julep or Hawthorne strainer, strain the chilled Negroni from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass over the ice cube.

Garnish & Finish

5

Express Orange Peel

Hold an orange peel (approximately 1 x 2-inch strip of zest) over the glass, skin side down, and give it a firm twist to express the citrus oils onto the surface of the cocktail. Rub the peel's outer skin briefly around the rim to add aroma.

6

Drop or Skewer Peel

Option A: Drop the twisted orange peel into the drink for a classic presentation. Option B: Skewer the peel and rest it on the rim for a refined look.

7

Optional Enhancements

If desired, add 1 dash Angostura bitters to the mixing glass before stirring for additional aromatic depth, or twist a half lemon peel over the finished drink for a sharper citrus note.
