1

Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you mix the cocktail. Set aside.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz reposado tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz grenadine, 0.25 oz agave syrup (if using), and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Add enough ice to the shaker so it is about two-thirds full (approximately 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and well-chilled.

4

Strain and top

Discard the ice from the chilled glass. Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over fresh ice. Top with approximately 2 oz soda water to give the drink a bright effervescence.

5

Finish with bitters and garnish

Float 1–2 extra dashes of Angostura bitters on top for aroma and visual contrast, or add an extra dash directly into the drink if preferred. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a cocktail cherry if desired.

6

Serve

Serve immediately with a short stirring straw so the drinker can gently integrate the soda and grenadine as they sip.
