720ml, light and effervescent sparkling sake with delicate fruit aromas and a crisp, refreshing finish

Place the 720 ml bottle of Masumi Sparkling sake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or on ice for 30–45 minutes, until well chilled (ideally 6–8°C / 43–46°F). Sparkling sake is best served cold to preserve effervescence and delicate aromas.

Chill bottle

While the bottle chills, thinly slice cucumber into long ribbons or rounds (about 1/8" thick). Gently wash and pat dry mint sprigs. Using a vegetable peeler or small knife, cut six lemon twists from the peel, avoiding the bitter white pith.

Prepare garnishes

Place 6 flutes or tulip glasses in the refrigerator or freezer for 10–15 minutes, or fill them briefly with ice water then discard before pouring to keep the drink cool longer.

Chill glassware

Carefully remove the bottle from the fridge. If the bottle was on ice, dry it thoroughly. Hold the bottle at a 45° angle away from people and fragile items. Remove the foil and loosen the cage. Keeping a thumb over the cork, slowly ease the cork out with gentle twisting to control release of pressure and minimize foaming.

Option A — Individual pours: Pour slowly into chilled flutes, tilting each glass and letting the sake run down the side to preserve bubbles. Fill each glass to about two-thirds full (approximately 120 ml per serving) to leave aroma space. This bottle yields roughly six 120 ml pours.

Option B — Shared carafe: If serving family-style, pour into a chilled carafe filled with a small handful of ice (optional) then gently top with sake. Pour from carafe into glasses as above.

Cucumber garnish: Slide a thin cucumber ribbon into the side of each flute or twine a short ribbon around the inside of the glass before pouring for a subtle vegetal aroma.

Mint & lemon: Gently slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and rest it on the rim or float it on the surface. Add a lemon twist to the rim or drop it into the glass for a bright citrus note. For a lighter presentation, omit garnish—Masumi Sparkling is delicate and drinks well on its own.

Serve immediately while sparkling. Recommend pairing with light appetizers such as sashimi, fresh oysters, or simple salads to complement the sake's delicate fruit aromas and crisp finish.

If not finished, re-cork the bottle with the original cork or a sparkling wine stopper and store upright in the refrigerator. Consume within 1–2 days for best effervescence; carbonation will diminish over time.
