Mac n Cheese

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbly. Slowly add the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Keep cooking until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Cheeses

Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese until fully melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until all pasta is well-coated with the sauce.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Add Toppings

In a small bowl, mix the bread crumbs, paprika, and chopped green onions. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the mac and cheese in the baking dish.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your loaded mac n cheese!
