House Chardonnay Directions
- 1
Harvesting the Grapes
Select ripe Chardonnay grapes from the vineyard, ensuring they are free from blemishes and decay.
- 2
Crushing the Grapes
Place the harvested grapes into a clean fermentation container and crush them to release the juice.
- 3
Adding Water and Sugar
Add 2 liters of water and 100 grams of sugar to the crushed grapes. Stir gently to mix.
- 4
Adding Sulfur Dioxide
Dissolve 0.1 grams of sulfur dioxide in a small amount of water and add it to the mixture to inhibit unwanted bacteria.
- 5
Inoculating with Yeast
Sprinkle 10 grams of wine yeast over the mixture and stir gently. Cover the container with a cloth to allow fermentation while keeping contaminants out.
- 6
Fermentation
Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. Stir daily and monitor for bubbling, indicating active fermentation.
- 7
Pressing the Wine
Once fermentation is complete, press the mixture to separate the liquid from the solids. Use a cheesecloth or wine press for this step.
- 8
