House Chardonnay Ingredients

Method

House Chardonnay Directions

  1. 1

    Harvesting the Grapes

Select ripe Chardonnay grapes from the vineyard, ensuring they are free from blemishes and decay.

  2. 2

    Crushing the Grapes

Place the harvested grapes into a clean fermentation container and crush them to release the juice.

  3. 3

    Adding Water and Sugar

Add 2 liters of water and 100 grams of sugar to the crushed grapes. Stir gently to mix.

  4. 4

    Adding Sulfur Dioxide

Dissolve 0.1 grams of sulfur dioxide in a small amount of water and add it to the mixture to inhibit unwanted bacteria.

  5. 5

    Inoculating with Yeast

Sprinkle 10 grams of wine yeast over the mixture and stir gently. Cover the container with a cloth to allow fermentation while keeping contaminants out.

  6. 6

    Fermentation

Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. Stir daily and monitor for bubbling, indicating active fermentation.

  7. 7

    Pressing the Wine

Once fermentation is complete, press the mixture to separate the liquid from the solids. Use a cheesecloth or wine press for this step.

  8. 8

    Aging the Wine

If desired, add 50 grams of oak chips to the wine for flavor and transfer the liquid to a clean fermentation vessel. Seal and let it age for 3-6 months.

  9. 9

    Bottling

Once aging is complete, bottle the wine in clean, sterilized bottles. Cork the bottles to seal.

  10. 10

    Serving

Chill the Chardonnay in the refrigerator before serving. Enjoy your homemade House Chardonnay!
