Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Preparing the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey and season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

- 3
Resting the Turkey
Once fully cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute for more flavorful meat.
- 4
Pulling the Turkey
After resting, use two forks to pull the turkey meat off the bones. You can choose to shred it or keep larger pieces for your sandwich.
- 5
Assembling the Sandwich
Take two slices of bread and spread mayonnaise on one side. Layer with pulled turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices. Top with another slice of bread to complete the sandwich.
- 6
Serving
Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately with your favorite side, such as chips or a pickle.
