Chicken Parmesan
Method
Chicken Parmesan
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound the chicken to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- 3
Season both sides of the chicken with salt and black pepper.
- 4
Breading the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls.
- 5
In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
- 6
Dip each chicken breast into the flour, coating it evenly. Shake off excess flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb and cheese mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick.
- 7
Frying the Chicken
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- 8
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to do this in batches.
- 9
Baking the Chicken
Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish.
- 10
Spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 11
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
