Baked Ziti Ingredients

Method

Baked Ziti Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Ricotta Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

In a large baking dish, mix the cooked ziti pasta with 2 cups of marinara sauce until evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Baked Ziti

Layer half of the pasta mixture in the baking dish. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the pasta, then sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, ricotta mixture, and finish with the remaining marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Top with grated parmesan cheese.

  6. 6

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your baked ziti!
