Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a martini/coupe glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it is well chilled.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Absolut Elyx vodka, 1 oz Cointreau, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 1 oz cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice cubes.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the drink to proper balance.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, empty it now and quickly dry the rim with a towel or napkin.

5

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or just the cocktail strainer) to remove ice shards for a clean presentation.

6

Garnish

Express a lime twist over the surface of the cocktail to release essential oils, rub it on the rim if desired, then drop it into the drink or place a lime wheel on the edge of the glass.
