Brewing Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Water

Begin by boiling 2 cups of fresh, filtered water in a kettle. Take care not to let it reach a rolling boil, as water that is too hot can scorch the delicate green tea leaves.

  2. 2

    Measure the Tea

While the water is heating, measure out 2 teaspoons of high-quality green tea leaves. If you're using tea bags, one bag is typically equivalent to 2 teaspoons of loose leaf.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Once the water has reached the ideal temperature (around 175°F or 80°C), remove it from heat and let it cool for a minute. Pour the hot water over the green tea leaves in a teapot or cup.

  4. 4

    Steep Time

Allow the tea to steep for about 2-3 minutes. Taste the tea as it brews to find your preferred strength.

  5. 5

    Strain and Serve

If using loose leaves, strain the tea into your cup. If using tea bags, simply remove the bag. Add honey or sweetener and a lemon slice if desired.
