Soaking Potatoes
Soak the cut potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to help achieve a crispy texture.

Heating Oil
In a large, deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

Drying Potatoes
After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Frying Potatoes
Carefully add a handful of the dried potato strips into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Draining and Seasoning
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
