Method

Chicken Teriyaki

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Sesame Chicken

  1. 4

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season lightly with salt.

  2. 5

    Dredge the Chicken

In a bowl, beat the eggs. Dip each piece of chicken into the eggs, then coat with cornstarch.

  3. 6

    Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Prepare the Sauce

In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce and honey. Once the chicken is fried, toss it in the sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Salad

  1. 8

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed salad greens, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and shredded carrot.

  2. 9

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle with soy-based or sesame dressing just before serving.

Rice

  1. 10

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 11

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Miso Soup

  1. 12

    Prepare the Broth

In a pot, heat dashi stock or water to a simmer. Stir in miso paste until dissolved.

  2. 13

    Add Tofu and Green Onions

Add cubed tofu and chopped green onions to the broth. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
