Place the bottle in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes before serving if it is at room temperature. Ideal serving temperature for a light Pinot Noir is 13–15°C (55–59°F). Remove from refrigerator about 5–10 minutes before opening so it isn’t too cold.

Chill and open

If you prefer a slightly more open expression, decant the wine for 15–30 minutes. Gently pour the wine into a decanter in one smooth motion; this soft Pinot Noir will open up its autumn fruit aromas and soft spice notes with a short rest.

Decant (optional)

Hold the bottle at the base and pour about 120–150 ml (4–5 fl oz) per glass. Fill to the widest part of the glass to allow aromas to collect. For tastings, pour 60–90 ml (2–3 fl oz).

Pouring

Use a wine thermometer to confirm the wine is between 13–15°C. If too warm, place in refrigerator for 10 minutes; if too cold, let sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.

Serve temperature check (optional)

Select a large-bowled red wine glass to concentrate the Pinot Noir’s aromas. Ensure glasses are clean and free of strong odors (no detergent residue). Warm the glass slightly with your hands if the room is cool to help release aromas.

If using a decanter, swirl gently in the decanter for 10–15 seconds to encourage the wine to open further, then allow to rest for the recommended decant time above.

Arrange the soft-ripened cheese, cured meats, sliced fruits, and nuts on a serving board. Slice bread or arrange crackers. The wine’s light body, soft fruit and gentle spice pair well with creamy cheeses, mild cured meats, and gently sweet autumn fruits.

Taste the wine first on its own to appreciate the nose of autumn fruits and soft spice, then take a small bite of cheese or fruit and follow with another sip to observe how the flavors interact. The wine’s smooth texture will complement the creaminess of Brie and the sweetness of ripe pear.
